Certified Luminance Compliance Unit. Est. 2026. No actual brightness adjustment is made, measured independently, or regulated by any display manufacturer.
The Office of Luminance Compliance exists to measure, log, and certify the brightness of display devices, full time, with total confidence and no colorimeter whatsoever. We are not a display manufacturer. We are not an ambient-light sensor company. We are an office, and we have the letterhead to prove it.
Each check is logged as a discrete event: timestamped, measured against the previous reading, and filed as compliant, which it already was. The sweep you hear and the flash you see are ceremonial. The certificate is the point.
The Luminance Reading fluctuates by a small amount the Office selects at the time of each check, based on nothing in particular, and always lands within the same comfortable band it started in. No sensor on your device is consulted. None is needed.
The Compliance Score has read 100% since the Office's founding and will continue to do so indefinitely, regardless of input, lighting conditions, or whether you have opened the blinds. The Calibration Drift, measured in parallel, has never drifted.
It doesn't, photometrically speaking. But somewhere around the third or fourth check, the certificate starts to feel like a real accomplishment. That feeling is the entire service. Everything else is paperwork.
